Wow! Great graphics and message!
well done !
That is some ignorant shit.
I may agree with you, but what you can’t say is that the subject of this piece is not out there in the zietgeist, and a great many people feel this way. When asked about the Occupy Wall Street movement, Cain said, “people shouldn’t be blaming wall street, they should blame themselves”. Also, I think it’s pretty clear that his 9-9-9 plan has already been declared to be a regressive tax, benefiting the rich much more than the poor, so people are asking who is Cain really fighting for?. I personally don’t agree with the idea he is a Uncle Tom in the racial sense, but he may, or may not, be an Uncle Tom in the economic sense. This is where the confusion comes in.
Why is it that if an African American doesn’t toe the liberal ideological line they’re always accused of being stupid or an Uncle Tom?
I think your question is one part of what this piece is about. The way I look at this is that an “Uncle Tom” was someone who wasn’t looking out for the majority of his group. I think that is why both white and black can, and do, refer to Herman Cain as an “Uncle Tom”. Not in a racial way but in an economic way. Cain is a long time insider, from working with the Fed, to working for some of the largest corporations and individuals in this country. One doesn’t have to look hard at Cain to see his interest lie more with “The Man” than with the common man.
